Integrating taxi sharing with rail travel

I was accepted to participate in the Hacktrain — one of the craziest and most memorable hackathon experiences ever: it takes place on multiple moving trains that are part of the project. During this adventurous hackathon, we invented Traxi.

After conducting interviews with train passengers, we found that passengers are often taking individual taxis after their train trip

Our plan was to integrate taxi sharing with rail travel. During their train itinerary, passengers can specify their final destination.

Traxi then matches passengers who exit at the same station and have the same route to take after they have arrived.

Our prototype has been tested with dozens of train passengers.
